What a couple of weeks this has been. I seriously missed my Macbook. It wasn’t anything major, i simply has a nut that was built into the lid of the Macbook give way causing the whole thing to bend and creak and not quite shut right. So since I am the [...] So it has been a little over 2 months with my Droid. So far, quite impressed by the phone. Now, before i go all Droid happy in this post, i want to clarify some things. I am not 100% happy with this phone, there are things i DO NOT like about it. Also, i [...] Well as of tomorrow, I will be moving another facet of my life forward. My cell phone. Currently, i have a Motorola Razr2 phone on Verizon. The phone, while having some quirks and a shitty outer screen that i seem to crack within a month EVERY TIME IT IS REPLACED, it has been quite a dependable [...] As of this morning, the blog is now more mobile friendly. I can only tell you what it looks like on the iPhone/iPod but it is pretty cool with this nifty plug-in i installed. You can actually go and see everything in a nice convenient layout, easy to read and comment on. Now if you don’t [...] Well let’s start this out with a bit of Tech. OS 3.0 for iPod’s and iPhone’s came out today. Now I own a iPod Touch so I am part of the lucky demographic that got to pay 10 dollars for the upgrade. While this is not a big deal, I still don’t want to pay [...] So over the weekend, and with the wedding looming closer, we met up with our amazing photographer and got some Engagement Photos taken. Now at first, I wasn’t so sure about the idea. To me it seemed like a sham for more money. But then I looked past all of that and though “these will be nice pictures of just us for us and friends to have, so why not” and went with it. I’m glad I did. I chose to have the shots done down at Belle Isle, because frankly, I think it’s a beautiful area that should be utilized more and is just one of those hidden little gems about Detroit. Anyways, we went down and got pictures at the Fountain down there, with the GM Ren En in the background, the conservatory, and the Casino down there (which is now a hall only if you did not know). One of the funniest parts were the photographer saying things like “get close to her like you love her or something” or “kiss, for a long time” or “hey you two!! make out some more!! be natural” which to us was hilarious. We are not like, a heavy makeout couple by any means, but it was kind of fun. We also agreed we kissed more on Sunday then probably the past month. We both laughed at that. So then after a bunch of riding this weekend and stuff, I am now happier to be home. But now even more technology stuff!! I Finally got some time to setup Server 2008 on my basement computer, only to find that some of my Capacitors are starting to bulge on the motherboard. OH JOY OF JOY’S! What happened was, i upgraded to the newest version of WordPress. Mainly i upgraded for the new dashboard and the comment abilities and stuff. The upgrade went GREAT but i was getting a Redirect Loop error when i went to load the front page. [...] I originally had a nice happy flowery post to put here. It is now dead because of my day. I shall now share. So one of the city mall’s just got a new sign. We as the city IT Department do not support lakeside mall or the sign. Since, however, it is apart of the city and [...] Here is one thing i wanna see as far as legislation goes…. 1: I want to see something similar to the great depression electricity and then later in our history national telephone wiring come to cable internet. Now hear me out. It is hard to look at this right now and say “seriously? with al that is going [...] Now, i want to open this with, haven’t played any game of the series yet. I don;t know how i missed it. I know i read abotu it and thought “oh cool!” but somehow i never played the game. I do plan to play the latest version though. So far the reviews are mostly positive. Some people [...] Well we have entered into a new era. I am posting this from my fancy new 2nd generation iPod touch. It’s very cool. While it is great that I can do this, I can say that long posts will have to wait for the computer or until I get better with the onscreen keyboard. Today is a sad day for Academia, as it has lost [...] Well, today was one of those days that i love my job. LIke a mechanic with a classic car he gets running, or a photographer with that perfect set of pictures, I was at home. we have 4 old HP Net servers (2 500MHZ P3′s with 6x9GB Harddrives, and 3 P2 450MHz machines with 6x9GB Harddrives and about a gig of RAM in each machine) and currently one of the P3 machines is my sharepoint test server. So i asked about the others, they were going to eventually be auctioned off (cuz that’s what we have to do) and i asked if i could take them apart first. I was given the go ahead. So 2 screwdrivers in hand i set off like a kid in a candy store. Granted I only got one machine apart, but now i have a Dual Processor (almost a triple processor but it would not recognize the 3rd one) 500MHz P3 machine with 6x9GB Harddrives (the board won’t support another SCSI Card without an expansion card or it would have had 12) machine with 3.23GB RAM (12x256MB sticks and 4x64MB sticks). Needless to say my sharepoint server is MUCH more responsive (still with it would have picked up the 3rd processor i had in there, but it probably needed the 4th slot filled before it would recognize them). Tomorrow i get to see if i can make a quad processor (i think one is already dual) machine with a bunch of RAM to be my image deployment server. But again, like i said, kid in candy store syndrome, I’m super fucking excited. Then after work, Jess and I went to go see Iron Man (for those of you just tuning in, Jess = The Girl). ****SPOILER ALERT BELOW*** Let’s talk about Microsoft today. Sometimes referred to as MicroShaft or M$ or those fucking assholes who write crap software. I agree with most of the above statement’s. MS did get some things right, like how to market software and strong arm people. They even did a good job with Fable and Halo. [...] yeah. So the job is going good. I’m completely in LOVE with VMWare now it’s just amazing. I also found out i get to learn the following: Group Policy to setup on the network |
